G.E US Army TU-9-B Ant Tuning Unit
For sale is a 1940 vintage General Electric Co U.S Army Signal Corps Transmitter Tuning Unit, Model TU-9-B.
This unit has been modified slightly, with the case extended in depth. It has PL259 sockets on the rear.
This is from a silent-key sale, so I don't know much about its history; maybe this modification was a common practise on these units? One thing I do know is it certainly contains a lovely big Roller Inductor with incorporated position counter, and two pretty hefty variable capacitors.

Arguably one of best designed amplifier foor the amateur market, buily to last


This is the amp with the original advert a cartoon of a skeleton sitting in front of his staion and the caption read "This amp will outlive you"

It was extremely well made and featured two 4cx800 valves.this gave it the popsibility of 2.5 Kw 0utput and run cool as as a 1KW amp.

The aamp is 'in the green' at 1.5Kw and in the red 2.5Kw but it would be foolhardy to run at that level for a measly 2dB.... has given me excellent service but now has to go to help finance for me to buy the Icom PW2 to complete my Icom set-up.

Due to weight this needs collection as damage is certain to be caused by couriers!

Paypal gift payments sometimes called "Friends and Family" should be avoided by buyers as you have very few rights for payments made in this way. Also such payments will be outwith Paypal's terms of service for the seller.
If things go wrong I recommend the Small Claims Court online process. It is cheap, easy and very effective. The fee is added to the claim so if the Court finds in your favour it costs nothing.
