Happy Solstice.
Happy Solstice to you all. A time of looking at where we have been and where we are going. It is a time that I really love, I find the deep darkness of the mornings and early evenings put me in touch with the depth of myself. It is also a time of whirling energies as we feel people twist and turn in their desire to fulfil the expectations that arise with Christmas looming.Whatever our belief systems or religious preferences, it affects us all on one level or another. I have often seen it as a time to not get involved with all the razzamatazz that goes on. However, I am finding this year that I am seeing it quite differently, not that I want to get involved with the total madness that seems to come over so many at this time, but seeing that, that "madness" can actually put us in the place of being open to "the other" to actually becoming open to what it is we are really seeking so avidly. With so many of our brothers and sisters, living in desperate poverty or trying to survive after terrible natural or man made disasters, which just sending money does not really change. It seems so obscene to be concerned with how many mincepies we may need, or if the turkey we are about to cook is big enough, or have we spent enough time and money in buying presents for everyone in our circle. At this time I see the wonder of the universal spirit that gives us all exactly what we need without judgement to take us to what it is we truly desire, what we are here to achieve. I have often quested with Mother Earth and asked for guidance and help when I have felt so small and unable to really make a difference. Always she has told me "all you have to do to help everything and everyone is to love yourself, that is all you are here to do. As you understand yourself more and more and accept every aspect of yourself, as you love every aspect of yourself more and more, so everything begins to change" As we truly love ourselves, the light of our whole being becomes one of compassion and love for all, we really become a part of the web of heart connections that heralds the changes we need to move forward on our Journey as the human race. Thanks Elsa for your wise words about loving ourself - still very apt as we approach Solstice 2007.
