Re: Scally Rally Island
Great stuff! Love 164s!
I picked up my Ducato 2.5TD last night, just needs a good clean, some attention to the turbo(!) and a little bit of ambulance signwriting and Team Pistonbroke are ready to go!!!!
Should be a great weekend, and it's televised by RPM too!!!

Re: Scally Rally Island
A Ducato! Brilliant
I read someone else is planning to pilot a Renault Mastervan so can you imagine the RPM synopsis of the various classes... Our class is the boxy 80's style saloon with stickers all over it. We didn't make any effort to strip the car out at all. The interior is like new... seemed a shame to junk it! At least the 164 is quite nippy i suppose and it handles well with the T/S 8v lump up front.

Re: Scally Rally Island
Turbo sorted!!
Top speed has doubled as a result, now she'll nudge 80!! (On a closed road of course!)
Not sure about the handling but she is almost mid-engined so it shouldn't be too bad!!

Re: Scally Rally Island
Hi Leo
Thanks for the details. Probably a bit late in the day for ebay but i'll see what we can do. Well done on the MOT. We planned to spend a day picking useful spares from our 'spares car' but unfortunately some b**tards stole the 'spares car' at the weekend! Can you belive it? There wasn't even any wheels on the thing!! Apparently it was traded into our local scrap merchant for the pricely sum of 90-quid. Perhaps the scallyrally people need to revise the rules a little as this explains why it is so difficult to get a car for 100-quid.

Re: Scally Rally Island
Bad news on the spare car Jonathan. If you are stuck for any last minute bits mail or text me on 087-6693946 and I'll see if I can help.
Otherwise, I'll see you Friday Morning!!
Took the Ducato for a test run the other day ad the brake pedal went to the floor!! Turned out to be a sticky caliper as it had been lying up for so long. Didn't take any chances, it now has new pads, discs the lot.... Graphics being fitted tomorrow!!!

Fraid that I'm not going to make it... I've been off work for over a week with an infection and it's not getting any better so I'm going to pull the plug on Sylvia's Scally Rally

All finished and Team Piston Broke (Leo) and The Irish Arabs both finished with flying colours. In fairness it was a great event and Leo is a true headcase and super bloke! When you all see him on RPM in two weeks you will all be in stitches with laughter.

2009? Muppet!
I'm already thinking 'Polizia' livery for the 164 next time
Bit of a copy from Clarkson but it suits the image of the car well.

Re: Scally Rally Island
A guy called Kieran McAnallen in a Cortina Crusader I think. Jonathan and ourselves finished on the same score, think we were just outside the top ten but I'm not sure, the "After Party" is a bit of a blur!!!

Oh BTW I've put a guy onto you about the 127 race car. His names Ben if he contacts you.

Re: Scally Rally Island
Hi Stuart. Yeah, the whole Scally Rally was a bit of a party, worth doing for next year if you have time.
Thanks for the contact about the 127, no word yet though. It has to go because I bought a 300bhp Ritmo Turbo.
Someday I'll get sense.......
