Sonntag, Owens, Gutekunst, Heidenreich, Baeumler, Mixon, Rogers of Denmark, SC Bamberg County
I am interested in finding information on the Sonntag family who lived in Denmark, SC during the 1880 U.S. census and some of whom are buried in Denmark Cemetery. Mother,Theresa (1834-1917) and Father, Otto (1824-1897) were born in Germany. One daughter, C. H., was born in Illinois. I am trying to find out if Carrie H. Gutekunst (1857-1891), as listed on the cemetery marker is Caroline Harriet Sonntag who married George J. Gutekunst on 4/19/1883. I would also like to know if there are any other Sonntag marriages recorded. Marie L. Sonntag's grave (3-25-1874 - 12-13-1948) lists her as the wife of Logan J. Owens (1861-1914). Rosa T. Sonntag's grave (1887-1903) lists her name as Rosa T. Heidenreich. I am especially interested in tracing Charles (Charley/Charly/Charlie) G. Sonntag who was born in SC to Theresa and Otto around 1873. He could be my great-grandfather, but I need to find a living person in the line before I can confirm the relationship. Other names of interest are Marie and Logan Owens' children: Sidney R. Owens (5-31-1903 - 2-25-1961) and his wife Mary B. (6-16-1903 - 8-1-1977); their siblings, Logan James Owens (5-10-1914 - 5-22-1947), Thomas B. (4-3-1912 - 8-28-1967) and his wife Helen W. (9-16-1919 - 12-30-1975); Stella M. Gutekunst (1891-1925); Louise P. Mixon (11-23-1907 - 11-1-1972); Sigrid Sonntag Baeumler (4-25-1897 - 8-16-1993); and Margaret R. Rogers (1909 - 1934). Many thanks! |
