Looking for William Gregg, Sr. in Newberry co. who was given a land grant in 1772 for 150 acres along Cannon Creek. William was a seceder Presbyterian and attended Cannon Creek church. William and his wife are buried in the church cemetary, but there is no marker left for them. Their daughter, Mary, and husbands Samuel McCalla and Samuel Spence are buried there also. William and Jane had 5 children. Nancy- may had married James Williamson of York co. John- married Jane Gladney in S.C. William- married Rebekah Mary- married Samuel McCalla Thomas All the children were born in late 1770's and early 1780's. William sr. died in 1816 and Jane died in 1823. Frances |
