Meetze family question

I'm trying to make a connection between Moody Wessinger Meetze, born July 27, 1907, died March 30, 1991 to the Wessinger surname (if there is a connection).

Moody was a son of James Sebastian Meetze and Amelia Weed. I don't have the parents for either of these people.

Moody married Ruby Mae Stoudemire, born March 20, 1910, died July 02, 1996. They was married in Richland County, SC about September 1934.

Re: Meetze family question

Hi Richard,

I have James Sebastian Meetze as the son of Elijah Caleb Meetze b. 9 Aug 1853 d. 28 Feb 1914 and Mary Ann E. Turnipseed b. 21 Dec 1838 d. 15 Sep 1881. Elijah Caleb, son of John Thomas Meetze, Jr. b. 3 Aug 1788 d. 26 Oct 1870 and Barbara Anne Smith b. 23 Jan 1793 d. 27 Jan 1878. Don't see a Wessinger connection there. Perhaps it is on Amelia Weed's line if there is a connection. I'm sorry but I have nothing on Amelia Weed.

I apparently have Moody Wessinger Meetze listed incorrectly in my database. I show him as Moody M. Meetze.

Hope this is of some help to you,
Marlene

Re: Meetze family question

Marlene,

I found him listed as Moody Wessinger Meetze in the Richland County marriage index. I was able to get a copy of his obituary but it identifies him only as Moody W. Meetze.

I agree, if their is a connection to the Wessinger surname it's most likely through the Weed line.

Richard
