Hanover Raid 8/9 October 43
The Hanover Cemetery contains the graves of several members of 51 sqn who died on 8/9 October 1943. These include 1337605 Austin / 949475 Boyes / 944476 Findley / 1394118 Coldstream. I would be grateful to anyone who could pass on information on these airmen and the raid of that night. (I am researching a book on the destruction of the Merzbau - the Hanover masterpiece of the artist Kurt Schwitters - which took place on that particular night. |
