Dear Drum Line Parents,
Coming up is the University of North Texas Drum Line Camp. The camp will run from June 19th through June 22nd. All of next years’ battery members (Snare Drum, Tenor Drums, and Bass Drum players) are expected to attend this camp. In my opinion, this is the best camp for marching percussion in the country. The students will gain valuable experience and knowledge from the best instructors in the world, in the area of marching percussion. If there is any reason that your student will not be able to attend, please contact me at the number above.
Camp registration will begin at the University on Monday June 19th at 8:30AM. On Thursday, there will be a performance by all of the camp members in the arena across from the football field. Here is a general itinerary for that week:
Monday, June 19th:
4:30AM Meet at the Band Hall and load
5:00 Leave for UNT
9:00 Arrive in Denton and check into camp
10:00 Camp begins
At this point, I will make sure the students are checked into their rooms etc, then I will return to Lampasas with the bus and trailer. On Thursday, I will return to UNT for the performance at the end of the camp. Thursday’s itinerary:
9:00-9:30PM Head for home
10:15 Stop to eat in Ft. Worth

1:30AM Arrive home in Lampasas
Again, I want to reiterate the significance of this camp. This is when the students learn so much about marching percussion, their instrument, and they get to see, play and practice with other students from around the country. Don’t forget that the initial deposit of $100 must be postmarked May 19th. If you have any questions, please call me at the number provided above.
