Subject:   Please help me with my thesis

Message:   My research team and I are studying relationship satisfaction, spirituality, religion and self-esteem. I am looking for couples to take part in a research study approved by the IRB at University of Detroit Mercy. I am collecting this data for my thesis.

In order to participate, couples must be living with their current partner and have cohabitated for at least six months. Both members of the couple are needed for participation. Participation in the study requires minimal effort (20 minutes to an hour), but would mean a great deal to me. It is completely voluntary and involves the one-time completion of a questionnaire online. Each person would also be asked to sign a consent form online indicating your willingness to participate.

As an additional incentive to participate there will also be holding a raffle at the end of the study. The grand prize is an ipod nano.

All personal and identifying information will be separated from the other information in the questionnaires before they are reviewed. In other words, I will know who participates for the purpose of the raffle, but your name will not be connected to your responses and the information you provide.

I need at least 180 couples to complete my study so your help would be very valuable to me. Once couples volunteer, I will email them a link to the online survey along with a password I.D.

My hope is that results from my research will generate valuable information regarding the experiences of cohabitating couples. Upon completion, I would be happy to provide a written summary or a free seminar to those who are interested in hearing about the findings.

If you and your partner/spouse would like to participate, please send both of your emails to me at lmdillon@gmail.com

Thank you for your consideration.
