Battleship 49 LR 22
Remember the scene in "In Search of the Holy Grail" where the village idiot, minus both arms and legs, yells "it's just a bloody flesh wound", "Come back here and fight like a man" and "I'll bite you on the knee cap". Then, after King Arthur walks away, says, "Ok, we'll call it a draw". Now, you understand the mindset of the thirteen guys who played in Mobile last Saturday. First, when you only have 13 players, one of whom is nearly 60, you forfeit, right? You don't even bother going. Do the math! Perhaps there really is something called "new math" . Second, don't talk about winning, given these odds. Don't make me laugh! Third, when they score within the first few minutes, give up ok. Who are you trying to fool, anyway? Forth, when you're down 20-17 at half and they bring on five fresh guys, ease up Ok! Fifth, when there's 5 minutes left, the score reads 49-17 in their favor, Nate's out with a shoulder injury, quit, will you! Never happen GI. Mike Walberg, our man of the match, scores, center post!!! See a pattern? Like Mike Wolcott said, "These guys just don't when to quit". My kind of group! I can't compliment Brad Hogate's excellent duel fullback, no wings, game plan enough . I do believe Nate and Jon Clark figured out the scrum nfiguration. Kudos to all three. They scored early. Then again when I had to let the guy go for fear of "death by tackle". Our reply, Matt Parker steals their put in, then Mark Fulmer burst 40 meters up the middle, center post! They scored. Jon Clark's reply, another 40 meter burst up the middle, center post! I do believe I heard a fan yell, "That's a wake up call, Battleship". They scored again shortly before half. Half over, right? Not so! Jon scored again off second phrase when the forwards quickly out flanked/reserved the flow on them. Seems like the movement sta rted again from 40 meters out. They did bring on several players a half. That, plus the fact that we were starting to get nicked up, took it's toll. We did manage a score at the end. Seriouly guys, that was a huge effort Saturday.
