I thought you guys were gonna work with the Mid Atlantic so our hunts weren't on the same day? Must have been some kinda misunderstanding or something Billy, what happened?

Re: Va outside beagle series call shane at 804-931-1017
Talk to Doug. It was more important to schedule around Brooky than work with the guy's that brought half the dogs to the last couple hunts last year. I pushed hard to support the mid atlantic last year after the outside series and did everything I could to help boost numbers. Some thanks. My support is gone and so are alot of the other guy's until things drastically change. What we are doing, is starting a 4 hunt inside association after the outside series. We already have 3 of the 4 hunts set up. All hunts will be sponsered by a club, be in VA, have food, raffle and trophys. We will have top dog and top pack for the series. We are also going to have a point system for making field champs in the assoc. Taklebox we would love to see you at the outside and inside hunts this year and that goes for everybody that runs the mid atlantic. That also goes for everbody else we would love all the support we can get.

Re: Va outside beagle series call shane at 804-931-1017
Well last I heard we were waiting on you to let us know what your hunt dates were and Doug couldn't wait any longer before booking the hunts! But either way I would have been at the outside hunts that were not on the same days as our hunts just like I did last year, but then I heard that "someone" from the outside association's board was telling people not to support us and not to bring dogs to our hunt! Thats not very professional and it doesn't help either association! I my self brought quiet a few people to the outside series and thats the thanks I get?

Re: Va outside beagle series call shane at 804-931-1017
Tacklebox, I don’t know where you have heard such comments made from the guys that run the outside series but it is the first that I have heard of it. Basically we have to plan our dates and times around the hunt clubs that sponsor and support our hunts. Once the clubs can have their meetings throughout the summer and can vote weather or not to have a hunt and we figure out which clubs are going to have our events next thing we know its sept. Our assoc has a couple guys that run the mid Atlantic hunts on a regular basis and we are aware of this as I try to make a few after our hunts are over but it is often difficult to plan everything to run like all would hope for. Like Billy said we are looking at running a few pen hunts after the outside series is done because curtain hunt clubs wish to run in the pens and not on their lands and have asked if we would participate. So it’s going to be a packed season for our new Association and we welcome everyone to come out and join us, I'm sure to be a great success as it has been in the years past. Thanks Phillip, VOBA

Re: Va outside beagle series call shane at 804-931-1017
For the first part you better talk to doug again so you know what the hell your talking about. For the second part I let people know, if you have a dog that is a little to tall and he does good at A hunt expect for him to be measured even if you have brought many times before. If you don't understand that, talk to doug. We expect to have a great trial season and have given out 198 numbers so far. We would love to have all of you boys there. I talked to doug yesterday and Im pretty sure we can work our schedules around each other for the latter part of the trial season.

Re: Va outside beagle series call shane at 804-931-1017
Billy nothing probably would have been said about that dog at the fun hunt we had untill you had to open your mouth and say to a person that his dog looked to tall before we casted knowing that your dog was way to tall Matter of fact before we knew the results of the hunt Tacklebox picked that dog out of the holding pen and measured it becuase it was towering over every thing in the pen if you don,t believe that than you can ask eveyone that was there. As for the schedule conflict yes we do look out for Brooky because when he comes up here he usually brings 10 to 15 dogs eveytime so of course we help him out. As far as the outside series Chad and I ,Tacklebox, and even Doug came to all the hunts yall had two years ago to support thinking that more people from the series would come support us well we were wrong only two people out of the group has come and supported every hunt we've had since then and they know who they are. Good luck to Kevin and Shane on the outside hope you place every dog you take.

Re: Va outside beagle series call shane at 804-931-1017
Fatback there were no other hunts going on. Nothing to keep anybody from comming to the first mid-atlantic hunt of the year. HOW MANY DOGS SHOWED UP ???? I have pushed harder than anybody to try to get you all to change but it has not happened. And if 3/4 of a inch all of a sudden is towering after 5 hunts then so be it. Either way your on a short road to having less dogs then trophys at a future hunt. If you run out of competition come enjoy one of the 100 plus dog inside hunts we will be having in april. Happy Running

"only two people out of the group has come and supported every hunt we've had since then and they know who they are. Good luck to Kevin and Shane on the outside hope you place every dog you take".....no comment to this statement but it seems a lot of the time the Mid Atlantic can be there own worst enemy with comments like this. If more wanted to run your hunts than it seems like it wouldn't be hard to get folks to come so maybe there is something more to this picture. Wish the Mid Atlantic a good trial season and I hate to say you may have lost my support

Re: Va outside beagle series call shane at 804-931-1017
Okay first off Doug is the one who said he waited as long as he could before booking the first hunt! So I already talked to Doug! Second your dog is over 18inches which is why you had him ""Grandfathered In"" for the outside, I still dont understand how a dog thats over the the original limit is grandfathered in but anyway our limit is 17inches, not somewhere between 15in and 20in. Further more I said he was to tall before I knew he was your dog and when I put the stick on him and the judge saw it he said "ya'll want me to scratch that dog cause he is to tall" we replied no we would not do that! That was before the hunt results, then we held your dog up for the pic. we gave you ur clock and we all clapped for you! Now here is the big problem (Your Mouth) it is obvious anything someone says at a hunt or meeting or running dogs people will make sure the other person knows what we say! So you go to the outside meetings and say things like ( F@@k the Mid Atlantic and thier hunts) and expect to run an 18 1/4 inch dog? And one more thing, as for your comment about nothing going on to keep people from our first hunt? You are right it was nothing more than a Hurricane!! I have no Idea why more people didn't plan to come? But then again it did take 1100 points to win so something must have went right! So anyways as far as I'm concerned bring Pete to a hunt and maybe I can take 10,000 pennies from you!

Re: Va outside beagle series call shane at 804-931-1017
Tacklebox, doug needs to make you the full time spokesman for the mid atlantic. With all them facts you got, its allready apparent your the head jornalist for the national enquire. At a better note you'll be happy to know we have now handed out well over 200 numbers for the start of our outside series and expect to have a record turnout for the first hunt of the year. There will be breakfast, lunch, a big raffle and for the stand around time a couple bushels of oysters. Hope to see everybody there your support is greatly appreciated.

Re: Va outside beagle series call shane at 804-931-1017
hey say what you want as for your dog I put the stick on him, I know how tall he is but I'm not afraid to run agaist him and will take any side bet you want to make with him! The other facts, well they all like I said came from your friends! Take it how you want! One day you might say what you think to the people its about but until then I have to go by hear say and judge for myself if I should believe it based on who it comes from! They have never lied to me before so as for now I have to go with it! And I do hope there is a great turn out for the outside hunts and I hope everyone has a great time like I had before all the political bullcrap started in the outside hunts! I also hope the outside assoc. as it grows turns out to be a success, but ya'll do have some kinks to work out!

After numerous phone calls I need to correct a statment I said in the last post. Its not going to be two bushels of oysters but instead one bushel of oysters and a bushel of #1 jimmy crabs. Come join us and enjoy this great sport of running beagles on red gray and big brown foxes.

Ok guys we need to squash this bickering back and forth!!! It's not doing any of our assoc's any good by arguing. What we all need to do is redirect this energy and debates toward preserving our rights to hunting with hounds be it in the field or inside the wire .

Re: Va outside beagle series call shane at 804-931-1017
Phillip is right ya'll need to stop bickering. I don't know a whole lot about the outside assoc. since I've been out of it for a little while, but here's an idea... You want to run with the Mid Atlantic-17" height limit.... You want to run with the VOBA-18" height limit. You want to run both, we'll try to schedule around each other so you can make it to both, just be honest about the height of your dogs. This is not a stab at you Billy or anyone else just tired of people looking at these beagle sites and seeing us acting like a bunch of girls. GOSSIP, GOSSIP, GOSSIP!! Who cares!!!

Run what you like and like what you run. Don't care what anyone else thinks about you or your dogs and just follow the rules. Makes everything go alot smoother. Oh and here's a novel idea. How about support the sport instead of just one association. Not saying you have to go to their hunts but when you speak of them, speak well or not at all. Sometimes our sport seems more like one of those reality tv shows with all the alliances and other nonsense. Just have fun.

If you guys have that many dogs in VA I wish that yall could try to bring at least half of them to the national hunt. It would surely make it a lot bigger hunt. I promise that all of us from the central states go to hunts to have a good time. Come and join us at the next national and have a good time.
