Tracking down tail gunner

My father died at when I was eleven and never discussed the war. I am trying to track down his military career in WW II. All I know is he was a tail gunner in lancs flying out of England. Any one have any suggestions where to start. After the war he went into aircraft maintenance and immigrated to Canada in 1949 transferring to the RCAF based in Calgary, Trenton and London Ontario. Any help would be appreciated. thank you
