As a newer employee I did not have the opportunity to get to know Tony very well.We actually only spoke together maybee ten times total. But the first time we visited I thought,Wow that guy is cool.I get the impression that there were no strangers to Tony.I found it a rather unique experience to talk to someone who was basically a stranger to me, and leave with the impression that this person valued me enough to share his time talking with me.He had a great sense of humor and the ability to make a small moment of my day very enjoyable.People like Tony are a gift from God and are rare indeed.I personally will miss our rare visits.I feel so bad for his family and hope that they can somehow find comfort.
I was at my Dads in Kalmath- Falls Oregon when I got a very sad call from Robin telling me about all of our good friend Tony Sterling. Tony was a very special guy to a lot of us and we all will miss him greatly.I want to share a talk we had before I retired on Dec. 30 th 2004. Tony came to wish me a good retirement and we talked about his love and faith in God . He has the promise from the Bible "Your dead ones will live....They will rise up." So my dear union Brothers and Sisters even Jesus morned over the loss of Lazarus, so when someone you love dies , it does not show weakness to cry. I and Tony have confidence in the resurrection that God promises will be fulfield . Good bye our Dear friend you are with our God now untill then and we will always think of the good times we shared with our loving friend.May God Bless his family and friends during this time. Love Joanie Taylor
