The Flood gates is a really good spot for both. It's off of 295 south. Bridgeport raceway exit take to the end past the raceway. I have always done really good there

Some really good fishing is in Blackwood at Blackwood Lake down Church street/road you will see a Rite-aid on the corner of the street. There is also Woodbury Lake in Woodbury New Jersey. There is a water fountain and a playground I believe as well. Here is a link for more ponds/lakes in New Jersey.
