Ok guys and girls, our esteemed club chairman (that's Cyril) has agreed the final menu for our annual dinner at Angelo's restaurant in Lisburn on Friday 22nd November 2013.

In order to keep it to the affordable price of £25 there is a choice of 5 dishes for starter, main course and dessert. This price also includes a glass of house red/white wine, a bottle of beer or a soft drink.

The menu is as follows;

Starters

1. Minestrone Soup (v)
Italian vegetable soup with ground parmesan and parsley

2. Wild Mushroom Arancinni (v)
A Sicilian classic - deep fried rice balls coated in light breadcrumbs

3. Garlic Mushrooms (v)
Placed on home baked foccacia with wild rocket, parsley and parmesan

4. Sicilian Chilli ribs
Select pork ribs coated in a sweet chilli dressing

5. Picante pizza bread
With pepperoni, rd onion and chilli oil

Mains

6. Pork Scalopini
Medallions of pork placed on parmesan mash with marsala, shallot and mushroom cream sauce.

7. Angelo's lasagne
Pasta sheets, meat ragu, bechamel sauce and parmesan layers, garlic toast and chunky chips

8. Pan seared fillet of salmon
placed on parmesan mash with a foccacia crumb crust, salsa verde and buttered greens

9. 8oz 28 day hung sirloin steak pizzaola style (£5 supplement)
Prime sirloin coated in a rich tomato sauce with mozzerella and hand cut chips (please state cooking preference - rare, medium, well done)

Dishes 5-9 served with a selection of roast mediterranean vegetables

10. Spinach and ricotta tortellini (v)
with chestnut sage cream

Desserts

11. Pannacotta
Classic Italian cooked cream dessert served with berry compote and crushed biscotti

12. Semi Fredo
Classic Italian half frozen dessert with roast mulled fruit

13. Angelo's chocolate brownie
home baked chocolate sponge topped with cherry compote and served with rich chocolate sauce and vanilla bean ice cream

14. Tiramisu
sponge fingers soaked in espresso, sabayon and mascarapone cheese, flavoured with cocoa

15. Banoffee
A delicious combination of banana and toffee served in an individual glass.


To make it easy for you (and for those taking note of the orders) please indicate your preference using the numbers beside each dish e.g. 2, 7, 12.

I'd be grateful if those who intend to go would respond to this post and indicate your choice. Many have already paid their deposit and we will need full payment at our next meeting on 5th November. Don't worry if you haven't paid anything to date - go ahead and make your choice but please provide your payment in full either at next month's meeting or by sending me a cheque made payable to the Northern Ireland Italian Motor Club.
