Club meeting last week - 4th February 2014

For those who weren't able to make last week's club meeting I thought it would be helpful if I gave you a quick readout of the key discussion items. There may be some events that you will be interested in, so take a note of the dates in your diaries.

Giro d’Italia
o Invitation from Belfast City Council to participate in Giro d’Italia
o Belfast City Council are running a series of events in the City to celebrate the Giro d’Italia coming to Ireland
o They would like a number of Italian cars at various locations between 8th-10th May
o We are currently liaising with the Council to establish their exact requirements and how we might assist them.
o Are members interested in participating?

Ultimate Car Show, Caterpillar NI site (formerly FG Wilson) in Larne
o Show is on Sunday 30th March and runs from 1pm - 5pm. Cost for all cars and drivers is £10 with additional passengers costing £2 each.
o The show organiser Kevin Haveron is now taking bookings.
o This show was cancelled last year due to the adverse weather conditions
o We have attended this event in the past, meeting in the carpark at Carrickfergus Castle and driving in convoy down to the event
o What interest levels do we have for this year’s event?

AOVC car show at Sprucefield on Sunday 27th April
o We have been asked whether we would like to have a club display at this event
o Some of us have attended in the past and some individual members have displayed their cars but we have never had a club presence
o Are members interested in doing so? A good opportunity to promote our annual show the following month.

Evening run from the Outlet, Banbridge on Friday 6th June
o We have been invited to join the Banbridge AOVC for a cavalcade around the old racing circuit & town of Banbridge
o They will meet at the outlet in Banbridge and return there after the run
o They have requested that the cars participating in the run should ideally be 20 years old (to be covered by their insurance)
o Other Italian cars are very welcome at the Outlet
o The 20 year old request may limit the number of cars that can participate but the turnout at the Outlet and range of cars has in the past been very good. Are members interested?

We will discuss these items of interest again at next months meeting. In the meantime if anyone has any queries please let me know.

Re: Club meeting last week - 4th February 2014

Might be worth mentioning that members should bring in their club shirts (red ones only) to the next meeting so they can be updated to 2014 spec.

Re: Club meeting last week - 4th February 2014

Does that include letting them out an extra inch or two?
