Hi guys,
I was asked by a local rally and hillclimb-er if I could tell him which Lancia model was fitted with a five cylinder two litre engine as an engine tuner from somewhere very south of the border was advertising their services to transplant it into a mk. 2 escort without modifications to the bulkhead and a very reasonable horsepower claimed at the flywheel.


I thought a good place to find the answer would be to start here any ideas Alastair?
Could it be an Alfa engine?

Please post if yours have any ideas or if the tuner is blowing a smokescreen to prevent others copying his idea?

The Lancia Kappa was available in 2L 20V non turbo and turbo but there would not be too many of these in Ireland. It would be more likely he is using the Fiat coupe 20V engine which is probably the same but more common.

Yip likely to be the same engine that was used in the fiat coupe and they also used it in the stilo and marea. The lancia lybra used it too. Would not have thought it was a candidate for a lot of tuning- unless you go for the turbo version
