Avoiding Male Plants

Hey everyone, I’m new to growing and planning to start a small setup with my brother. We’ve read horror stories about male plants pollinating an entire crop and ruining everything. Since we’re aiming for a decent first harvest and don’t want to waste time or money, I’d really appreciate any advice on how to avoid males altogether. Are feminized seeds worth it for beginners? Any recommendations for reliable sources or specific strains that are beginner-friendly but still produce good results?

Re: Avoiding Male Plants

When my brother and I decided to try our first grow together, we wanted to avoid the headache of males ruining the crop. He found Kind Seed Co — https://kindseed.com/cannabis-seeds/ — and was impressed by their clean site and detailed listings. We chose Green Poison Photo Fem for its strong indica characteristics and short flowering time. We set up shop in his garage with a couple of fans and lights, nothing fancy. Despite being amateurs, the plants responded well to LST (low-stress training), and we got a surprisingly potent yield. Sharing that harvest made the effort feel even more worthwhile.
