Dawson family,Bovolgan(Bovolcan), County Antrim

In memory of Richard and Jane Ann Dawson also their sons and daughters.

Notes: In 1911 Richard James and his wife Jane Anna were residing in the town land of Bovolcan.

At that time they had been married 30 years and had a total of 13 children, 11 of whom were alive. 8 of the children were still living at home in 1911: John, David, Sarah, George, Mary, Thomas, Maggie and Charlotte E.

The following is an extract from a newspaper cutting, source and date unknown.


Dawson - January 16, 1934 at her residence Riverside, Bovolgan, Stoneyford, Jane Anna, widow of Richard James Dawson. Funeral to-day (Thursday) at 1pm to Stoneyford Churchyard. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing family.

MY HUSBAND LESLIE DAVID DAWSON IS THE GREAT GRANDSON OF RICHARD AND JANE.HIS GRANDFATHER WAS RICHARD. RICHARD AND TWO BROTHERS GEORGE AND WILLIAM EMIGRATED TO AUSTRALIA.ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE WOONDERFUL. WE ARE VISITING IRELAND OCTOBER THIS YEAR 2014 AND WOULD LOVE FAMILY CONTACT.THANK YOU,
