Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

Just to keep y'all up to date, the semi-finals will air this Sunday.

Lee does his best Bon Jovi :thud ... and the other guys sing stuff :)
Just two more weeks left.

I wonder if Lee will be watching while he's in New York?
That would have to be a bit strange 8)

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

I hope you get the duet

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

I wonder if he even realizes this is being shown in the States!

Looking forward to the reactions online for this.

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

Is the show and Lee especially making any impression over there.? Really really hope so.

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

I went onto the BBC America website and had a peek at the ADWD forum and was rather disappointed to see that the subject with the most posts was a rather ****** one about Denise!

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

Thanks Chrissi, that's a brilliant clip! I hope they like it.

It may have the most posts, but very few people actually post on it - it's mostly two posters (I think it's actually one person with two usernames) spewing bile Denise. Pathetic really!

Fortunately, there are plenty of other threads - and the bile spewing poster/s don't tend to venture outside their Anti-Denise thread!

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

Yeah, those 2 posters have a weird and unhealthy obsession with slagging off Denise. They don't post about the show at all! It's one thing to say you don't like her, but to go on and on for post after post, week after week, trying to prove to everyone else that she is the devil incarnate? WTF? They are very sad, unbalanced people!

It's unfortunate, but the BBCA outsources the administration of these forums and the admins/mods really don't bother. There's an old thread there from a Belgian escort agency they've never deleted!

Lee has the bulk of the support there, but there aren't that many people posting it seems.

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

As a few of us mentioned a few weeks back, BBCA is not widely watched here. Not everyone gets the channel in their cable TV package, or even if they do, they just don't watch it. For example, my cousin who is a huge Anglophile and loves everything British and travels to the UK every couple of years, never watches it. I practically had to hit her over the head just to get her to watch a few of Lee's ADWD performances.

I watch BBCA but I am so ****** off that we get the shows so long after they air in the UK. I am tired of seeing shows that are 2 and 3 years old. The ultimate example is ADWD, which will finish airing in the States almost exactly 2 years to the day that it finished airing in the UK. This left no chance for any of us who did not discover Lee until March 2009 to travel to London and see him perform in Joseph.

It was like a giant tease that BBCA aired ADWD when it was too late for us to see Lee perform the role he won in the competition. It is very frustrating. I cannot fathom why they held back this program for TWO YEARS. I intend to write to them to complain about it. Does anybody know why they held it back for 2 years before airing it in the States? There seems to be no logical reason.

All the shows we see on BBCA are at least 2 years old and that could be a reason why it is not too popular here. We are now getting Graham Norton shows from 2007.

I would think it is very likely that Lee and Denise are aware that ADWD is airing Sunday nights (except for this past Sunday) while they are here. Whether they prefer to stay in and watch it again is another issue!

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

I guess the real question to ask is how popular of a BBCAmerica show is it. And it is one of their headliners, so it's not doing too bad. The same excitement isn't going to be there as most folks who were watching probably went out to youtube and found the end result. BBC America didn't help as he's been the only contestant posted on the main page by the show title.

I think part of the problem on the forum is that many of the Lee supporters don't want to post too much as to give away the end game of the show to anyone who's despretly trying NOT to find out how the show ended (good luck there)

There's been a few new people show up, though, and the show keeps getting mentioned as an aside in different news articles that let's you know it's being watched.

The Maria show is starting June 7th. So we'll get their auditions intermixed with the ADWD final

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

When did Maria originally air in Britain? It was before ADWD, right? I doubt that I will get involved in another 'old' BBCA reality show in which I know the outcome and the winner has long left the starring role he/she won in the competition.

Before the third episode of ADWD aired, I HAD TO KNOW who won. There was no way on earth I could wait 10 more weeks to see if Lee had won, so I went and found my answer online. It did not spoil ADWD for me knowing he won. It actually enhanced the series for me knowing he won. I didn't have to worry about my boy, especially after the "All Right Now"/"rubbish" episode. I continued to watch, knowing who won, specifically for Lee because I was so in love with him. Don't know if I would have stayed with it otherwise.

I still don't know why BBCA held ADWD back for 2 years before airing it here. Didn't the newest American Idol (Adam/Kris) that just finished air simultaneouly in Britain? How come we get British reality shows 2 years after the fact??

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

HDYSAPLM aired in 2006 (ADWD aired in 2007).

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

Why do they not like Denise, Is it because she has married Lee?

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

There's only one Denise hater (who is using three usernames and pretending to be three seperate posters). From what I can gather, she (it's almost certainly a woman) was cheated on by her partner and now has a massive chip on her shoulder about it. She's decided that Lee and Denise cheated on their partners to be together, therefore, they're nasty people!

Utterly bizarre!

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

Dontcha just love how these nuts get all sensitive when they're called on their nonsense? "Oh, boohoo, you're being rude and aggressive to me (but it's okay for me to slander DVO and Lee because it's my opinion, hrmph!)"

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

Thanks for filling me in Johartuc. Cant help being a bit nosy where Lee is concerned.

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

I've just watched the 'Oh, What A Circus' vid again. I love Lee in that - he really IS Che! Lewis does well, but his delivery is very stilted (and what's with the 'posh' accent?). By comparison, Lee's delivery is fluid and natural - and his facial expressions are spot on! He also has the advantage of actually looking like you'd expect Che to look - black hair, dark eyes...yum!

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

I think Bill was right that Lewis took his inspiration from Lee on this number -- and it helped him enormously. Even Zoe said Lewis had finally become an MT performer. Well, he started at any rate.

Lee would make an excellent Che!

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

Has there been anything on T.V. or in the Newspaers about Lee ? I though that being in America at this time his P.R would have fixed something up for him. Seems like a perfect oportunity

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

Not if he's busy with other stuff.

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

Nothing that I've seen, but I really wouldn't expect anything. They aren't really well enough known over here to sell magazines.

Oh, by the way Prince Harry is over here and in New York as well.

And John Barrowman's going to be in Chicago for a Torchwood convention this week. A five hour drive away, but I'm not going to be able to make it. Too much other stuff going on. Oh, by the way, just to keep things in perspective, I don't expect to see any articles on JB either, outside of the Sci Fi scene.

Re: Coming up this week on BBCA ADWD

Thanks for keeping me in the frame Ringer. Hope we meet again one day. If Lee does a show in the states I am on the next Jumbo.
