Silly Question

I heard in U.K. "Mead", the fruit wine is sold. Is it true? Can I get it in London? Or if you know please inform me where I can buy it.

Re: Silly Question

Not a silly question Chie
There is one place I do know sells 'Mead' in London.

Gerry's Off Licence in Soho
74, Old Compton Street
London.
W1D 4UW

Telephone Number 020 7734 2053

I expect that other 'Off Licences' (shops that are licensed to sell alcohol) in London, also sell it too...

If you try 'Google' on the internet you may find more...
Hope this helps...

I wish they had shops that sold 'clones' of the real 'MEAD' eh?...
If you ever find a way to bottle it, don't forget to let us all know!

Re: Silly Question

Hi Chie

Mead is alcoholic, but this website looks like it exports to Japan:

enjoy tasting!

Re: Silly Question

Mead is actually made from honey. Quite appropriate I think

Re: Silly Question

Dear petrus,
Thanks for your quotation. Sad to say Mead at that internet shop is now "No Current Availability".
I am planning to visit London next year. I hope to find it there. Thanks a lot for your kind information!

Re: Silly Question

I buy my Mead at Kenwood House in Hampstead London.
It's a lovely place to visit while you are here
there is a shop that sells all kinds of lovely things.
At this time of year they sell Traditional Mead & Christmas Mead ( which is slightly spicy )

Re: Silly Question

It tastes delicious. And they have some lovely paintings there as well.

Re: Silly Question

Spicy Mead. That's top of my list
