Lee's done an interview with Dean Piper apparently, nice pic:

Lovely catching up with Lee Mead just now. #goodegg http://instagram.com/p/ZS1xlcGwU3/
Eclipse has tweeted this tantalizing snippet of rehearsal footage:
And I see from today's tweet from @westendmen that we may get another rehearsal video if their Twitter page can reach 850 followers - its currently at 819!
In the meantime, here's a lovely pic tweeted by Stephen today:
Not really West End Men as such, but have a look at Lee's Facebook page - interviews in three mags, obviously timed as promotion for the show, which they've scanned in. I see they've used the gorgeous photo in the banner above as their main pic - one of my all time favourites, where his hair is just perfection!!
From twitter, it appears that he fell down some steps. As there were people tweeting at the end of the performance about how much they enjoyed it, etc., I'm assuming that Lee was OK.
An update - apparently, the tweets about Lee falling downstairs were somewhat exaggarated! According to someone who was there from Lovelees, he simply lost his footing on the bottom step and didn't actually fall over! He continued with his song and, at the end, went and jokigly kicked the bottom step!
Thanks Johartuk I have just read a post on Lovelees from Ro
and she said that Lee just had a little stumble on the last step
as he was coming down to sing CED (which she said he got
massive applause for as always after he sang it). Pleased
to hear he was ok it is shame just a few people had to excaggerate
it on twitter.
If anyone manages to speak to Lee at the stage door could they
let Lee know how much we are missing his tweets, as I am sure I
am not the only one.
@notebook_live: "This Sunday we interrogate @leemeadofficial over those rumours about his marriage to Denise Van Outen. And talk about fun stuff too..."
it looks as though the Sunday Mirror's magazine will have an interview with Lee this weekend. Massive over the suggested content though!
Greycat I saw your post on the Lovelees forum regarding
a review by pocketsize theatreboy.
I cannot post on the lovelees forum but this person went
to see WEM the night that Lee tripped on stage. He tweeted
that the only thing enjoyable about the WEM concert was Lee
Mead falling down the stairs on stage. Of course we now know
that this was highly exaggerated, so I really cannot
take his review very seriously.
Hope you don't mind me posting this but I just thought I
would let you know about his tweet.
I did see the blogger's tweets the other night so I was actually surprised that the review wasn't more negative since he didn't seem to enjoy the show much - perhaps just trying to 'cool' in his tweets. In the end, he did give it 3/5 stars which is respectable. I never worry too much anyway about people having different opinions to mine about shows etc as personal taste can vary so much. As long as reviews aren't inaccurate or vindictive of course!
This particular blogger only gave Once the Musical 2/5 stars but I thought the show was fantastic when I saw it a couple of months ago. Clearly we are not kindred spirits!
Has anyone heard anything from tonight's WEM only I have seen
a couple of tweets saying that @YoungThacko sang Lee's song Fix You
and there wasn't the As Long As Your Mine duet with Lee and kerry.
Hope everything is ok with Lee.
I just read a report from Ro on Lovelees (she was there tonight) and apparently Lee has a cold, so they were resting his voice a bit - hence him not doing 'Fix You' and no duet with Kerry. He was otherwise OK and performing, though.
We were at the matinee today and if Lee had a cold he certainly hid it well! CED was amazing, just like the old days and he seemed to be enjoying himself. I did wonder if everything was ok as he didn't sing 'Fix You' or 'As long as you're mine' with Kerry but his voice sounded great. I thought he looked a bit emotional when he sang 'I believe' but maybe that was just me.
We loved the show and the other men did sing brilliantly too, they seem to have all settled in together and there was a bit of banter, particularly from David. Matt really surprised me, he really had a great stage presence and I can see why his fans love him. Kerry was everything you might expect, very powerful performances and she sang a fantastic version of 'At last'. She and Lee had great chemistry on stage.
They got a standing ovation at the end and the theatre seemed pretty full, I hope the press night goes well for them as it is a great show. I saw quite a few familiar faces, but I am a total wimp so I never speak up, I hope all of you had as great a time as we did! xx
I was at the matinee on Saturday as well. Yes, as Clare said, Lee didn't sing Fix You - David sang it instead. Very good, but a different interpretation. The duet was missed out - when Kerry sang At Last, it was changed so that she was choosing someone to dedicate the song to, rather than to pick a duet partner. If you'd never seen Lee before, you wouldn't have had a clue there was anything wrong! Had a word with him at the Stage Door afterwards, when he said he had a cold and was saving his voice for Press Night, and confirmed he will be singing Fix You again. Phew!!!
Many thanks to A/Liz and Clare for your recent reviews,
and also thank you everyone for all the news, links and updates on WEM.
Just catching up on them now...
Sorry to hear Lee has a cold. Let's hope he is resting today,
and will be back on top form tomorrow for
WEM's very important 'Press Night'...
Just love 'Fix You' - a very special song.
Fingers and toes crossed for you tomorrow Lee,
and WEM too...
Thanks for the update Another Liz, hope Lee has a nice relaxing
day today and is back to his fantastic self for press night.
Has anyone managed to ask Lee when they have spoken to him at
stage door if he is going to start tweeting again soon. I notice
there are a couple of tweets from fans saying how they are missing
his tweets and hope he will be back on twitter again soon as it is
a great way to keep in touch with all his fans.
To be honest, Maggiemay, we have not spoken to him about Twitter. He has told us about the very long rehearsal days he has had over the last few weeks, up to 10-12 hours a day, and I think it somewhat inappropriate under the circumstances to ask him why he isn't tweeting. Just my opinion on the matter.
When his schedule relaxes a little, he may find the time again to tweet.
Asher thanks for replying, I do respect Lee has been very busy
I was just wondering if it had been mentioned, in no way was my post
meant to sound intrusive, like all of us fans I just care about
Lee very much and it is just nice to hear from him through his tweets.
Lovely to meet everybody on Saturday night. Lee was brilliant, and I could appreciate why he didn't perform two of the songs, better for a couple of cuts to the programme than no Lee at all. I was lucky enough to get to speak to him for a while after the show, and he looks gorgeous with that new haircut, it's just about the right length (to me anyway) at the moment.
Now, the other West End Men. Great performances all round. If Matt Willis hadn't been surrounded by a group of his own fans I'm afraid I would have complained to him about his performance. Not because he wasn't good... he was excellent, a pleasant surprise there - but because I'm going to be in trouble at work for singing '3000' all day! A great song and one I hadn't heard till now. (I really must listen to a radio more!) David and Kerry were lovely to speak to. I'm sure Glenn would have been, but again, he had a little group of admirers round him and then I was distracted by a curly-haired man coming out of the stage door!
A wonderful night out, and even though I could only go to the one performance, it was a heck of a good 'un!
