I hope everyone going to Sunday's concert has a great time
Hopefully there'll be reviews and pics afterwards! As we've been told that there will be 'merchandise' there, I'm also keen to hear what is available. I'm guessing it means CDs, maybe a tour programme - or even more goodies?
I certainly also want to know whether there will be CDs and other stuff.
Since I can't get my hands on a CD of love songs (here in Belgium)...I hope to buy it after the gig in Horsham...
Looking forward to some reviews of tonight and pictures?
The link Jo put up is a twitter photo. If you go onto Stephen's
twitter page @stephenrahman_h you should be able to get it. Just

Thanks maggie for the heads up,and thank you Ro for the great review, yes he does have a great relationship with his Dad something I reckon he will have with Betsy when she grows up although they do have a good one now
Kelly Chaplin @klchaplin
@leemeadofficial You were absolutely amazing Lee. Only you can appeal to such a wide age range!! My kids aged 11 and 13 were so inspired.
Here is Angela’s account of her Train Journey to Barnstaple.
More to follow when I have the pictures loaded on to my computer and have got my thoughts together but enjoy this for now.
I was drinking my cup of tea in the station café at Exeter,
waiting for the train to Barnstaple,
I looked up to see a young man at the counter He had dark, curly hair!
Well I always notice men of a certain height and build, with dark curly hair.
Think to myself that from behind,or at a certain angle,
they could almost be Lee.
The difference, this time,is that this curly haired man really was Lee.
Not so remarkable I suppose as we were both destined for the same place,
Barnstaple, but mesmerising all the same.
Here was the man we all love so much only six feet away from me!
Should I smile?
Should I say hello?
In the end I did neither,I was completely 'Mead mushed'
as Joan would say,and I was not sure whether it would have been appropriate.
Lee was traveling alone,
carrying his suit and bag and was almost the last person to leave his seat
in the café before the train pulled into the station.
It was a very small train with only 2 carriages and all the seats faced
in the same direction with their backs to the engine.
I sat next to another Lee fan who happened to be on the train,
a very friendly lady whose face I know very well.
She said that Lee had been on the same train as her from London.
The train meandered through the green and lush Devon countryside.
The stations or halts were so small that we were requested to inform the conductor if we wanted the train to stop at any of them.
I got off at Umberleigh the stop before Barnstaple where I was meeting
Sue and Mike who had invited me to share their caravan
for the night after he show.
As the train pulled out Lee was staring out of the window
just his eyes showing in the gap between his suit and the window frame,
for a split second Sue and I were face to face with him and that view of his
large, sparkling, and surprisingly blue eyes is imprinted on my mind forever.
I had never been to Barnsaple before but somehow I was persuaded to make the trip via Cheltenham ( don’t ask)
The sweet Lee anticipation of travelling with a fellow Lee fan just adds to the overall experience.
After a quick coffee by the beach we booked into our hotel & got ready to meet fellow fans for dinner.
Then it was a quick walk up to the theatre.
When we got there Lee’s agent Wendy was at her merchandising table in the foyer selling Lee’s cd’s
She asked us if we would hand out some leaflets about Lee’s Xmas concert to people coming in
Well you know me. I had to ask each person if they had seen Lee before & a lot of people had seen him in Joseph but not since then
Well in my already uber excited state I had to say that they were in for a treat & I wasn’t wrong was I?
In our seats RowB the lights went down & Lee walks on to sing Pure Imagination.
The theatre erupted with whoops of delight.
Then he sang Close Every door so beautifully that I heard sighs from the lady sitting behind me.
I have to say Lee was very chatty & relaxed
I loved his little bit of dancing during Singing in the rain
Lee ended his first set with Fix you #swoon
When he introduced Stephen you could just feel the warmth & friendship between those two
I love Stephen singing Nature Boy & he was flawless singing unchained melody.
I think it was after that Lee got on the very high stool to sing Hallelujah his legs were dangling & he said he felt like an Umpa lumpa.
He told the audience that he had recently taken Betsy to see Charlie & the Choc factory.
Before we knew it it was the interval.
Wendy had asked us if we would help her sell cd’s during the interval
Well Lee had made a very good 1st impression because people were coming up saying which album is this or that song on.
After hearing him they wanted him.
Back to our seats & 2nd half. Lee cheekily danced his way through life & then he was joined by Amanda for a Wicked duet.
Stephen & Lee performing Luck be a Lady was comedy gold with Stephen changing one of the lines to Lee’s hair might see a brush?
After Stephens 2nd set Lee came on singing Kiss.
OMG he was off the scale sexy.
He did this kind of lasso move that I have never seen him do before. #THUD
Lee’s voice showed a wee bit of strain during Bring him home but all in all it was a perfect performance
After the show it was back to flogging cd’s
Well after that performance they were selling themselves.
We didn’t hang about at the stage door we knew that Lee & Amanda needed to shoot off quickly because they were both due on the Casualty set the next morning.
So we went back to the hotel where we had dinner to share a few drinks & happy thoughts with other Lee fans
Angela has kindly given me permission to post some of her photo's,
she apologizes for them being a little out of focus,
but this may be due to 'Meadymush' after her earlier encounter.
Thank you ladies that was good reading. Will comment more later.
That band on his wrist is called a Loom Band. They are all the rage with school children at the moment. They are made of little circular elastic bands weaved together to make a bracelet. Its a bit like French knitting but flat. There are lots of different designs to make. My daughter has them and everyone is making them. I expect he bought some for Betsy and helped her make one. Sweet thought that he wore it.
Lovely to read these reviews. Its the individual accounts of the day that make it so interesting. I think a few of us have now had an encounter with Lee like that en route or back from a gig. Lucky Angela this time.
I love the photo of the train at the station, it looks like a very scenic line.
It sounds like a good night. I'm not too sorry that I missed it as it was too far for me this time. I'm looking forward to Yeovil
I hope a few other reviews and thoughts will follow these two.
Thank you for reviews, photos etc, ladies. I was at Barnstaple too, but don't think I can add much more to your reports.
We must have been on the train behind Lee and Angela, judging from his tweets. When he said 'pit stop at Exeter', we assumed he was in a car. Then, when he tweeted 'Next stop Morchard Road', we began to wonder if he was on a train after all, which was confirmed when we went through the little station. Apparently the line is called 'The Tarka Line', after Tarka the Otter. Our train from Exeter to Barnstaple was packed, and we encountered a few more Lee fans en route!
Lee was very late coming out of the Stage Door, but everyone was very good and moved away quickly once they had had their moment. One funny thing that happened was that Stephen came out quite early, signed a few bits, then made his way up the street, and we all assumed he'd gone. While we were still waiting for Lee, someone closed and presumably locked the stage door (in fact, at that point, we wondered whether Lee had gone out of another door). Suddenly, Stephen came back, but couldn't get in, so he had to phone (presumably Lee) for someone to let him back in, amid much laughter!
My thanks to all concerned for the photos and reports
I won't be seeing Lee until the Southend concert but reading the reviews/anecdotes is a great way of building up the anticipation! Also nice to hear that the CDs are going down well.
