I vaguely recall the boy was British, or at least had British accent (could have been Dutch or French or whatever, but British overdub, or Aussie or Kiwi).

Marooned at sea. I vaguely recall airplane crash. Picked up by Asian/Chinese(?) sampan boat family. Of course kid doesn’t speak Chinese and none of the family speak English.

Boat family has son roughly same age as Brit. They teach each other language and custom, and become friends, until family goes to home port, which I think was Hong Kong, and Brit picked up by port authorities.

I remember it being on KFO, but may have been CCFF. I was 6 or 7, so what did I know? Until now I didn’t know there was a difference.
