Africans United for Taiwan

A.U.T.

Public Statement Date: October 6, 2006.

Subject: “At ninety-five, Taiwan still faced with the danger and threat of communist Chinese military terrorism”.

This year, on October 10 Taiwan marks its ninety-fifth year of existence as a sovereign independent nation and the first republic in Asia. The day would also be known as the “DOUBLE DAY” as Taiwanese and friends of Taiwan everywhere look round themselves and take stock of the terror threat of military posed by communist Chinese forces in South East Asia.

It is an event worth celebrating with all the fanfares it deserves. But the fact that the Asian nation still isolated by the United Nations, the international community is deprived of sharing thoughts and feelings amongst its members. This is the danger of the outdated United Nations Resolution 2758 manufactured and imposed on the August Body by people whose stock in trade is the destruction of civilization and values for selfish reasons.

The purpose of my note is simply to reinforce AUT stands that the people of Africa owe it a duty and responsibility to help our leaders to boast the image of the continent in the outside world. This is the only way we can prove to our charismatic leaders that we are with them and that we would work with them in promoting peace, stability and development of Africa and the world in general.

With this, we commend the leadership role model exhibited by allies of Taiwan on the continent and outside. We are particularly referring to the unflinched solidarity and support the campaign for Taiwan’s participation in the United Nations receives from allies of the Asian nation. We encourage the rest of the civilized world to lend support for Taiwan and promote international moral principles.

Since the imposition of the so-called anti-secession Law on March 14, 2005, the spurious dictators in Beijing fell much more arrogant in their terrorism of the people of Taiwan. By the imposition of the anti-secession law, Beijing makes it impossible for the peaceful resolution of all its differences with peaceful and democratic Taiwan.

To many observers and of course for all sane-thinking people, the anti=secession law is not a strange action, but because of the unprecedented threat to world peace and security it poses, the international community has cause to worry.

It is a fact well established that attempts by communist forces in Asia to annex the sovereignty of Taiwan heightened after the departure of the Japanese colonial forces in the Island in 1945. It was during this period that communist forces in Asia, backed by their mentors in the former Soviet Union launched all-out attacks on Taiwan, prominent are the fierce battle of QUEMOY at Kuningtou in 1949; battle of TACHEN ISLAND from 1954-55 as well as the battle of the TAIWAN STRAIT in 1958.

The relationship between Taiwan and communist China has remained tense whereby the latter seeks to annex the sovereignty of Taiwan at all cost, including spilling the blood of innocent people. The so-called anti-secession law therefore is a cacophony of anti-Taiwan policies pursued by the communist forces in Beijing ; policies which include “washing Taiwan in the Sea of Blood “ and “ Liberating Taiwan through the force of Arms”. How can we talk about peace in such environment whereby one country is threatening to annex its neighbors by force?

No sane person can ignore the dangers posed by communist China against Taiwan and the world at large. Despite international public opposition to the obnoxious anti-secession law, the communist forces have not abandoned their threat against Taiwan ’s national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Africans in particular cannot afford the luxury of sitting aloof, while the existence of a friend and partner in peace, democracy, freedom and progress like Taiwan is threatened.

We in the Africans United for Taiwan (AUT) therefore condemn in the strongest term possible the anti-secession law and other vicious policies championed by the communist empire against Taiwan .

We are no longer in the Cold War era. The days of jungle diplomacy are over. No civilized society is interested not alone wish to see injustice meted to other people just because they want to live and determined their destiny without the meddling of outside forces. The anti-secession law is a serious attack on civilization.

The communist forces in Beijing should not under-estimate the mounting international solidarity and support for Taiwan . Common sense should prevail, and communist China should understand the language of peace, and avoid all acts which threatened the integrity and dignity of Taiwan. The right of Taiwan to national independence and self-determination is not an issue to worry communist China . The writing on the wall is clear even for a blind person to read and understand
