Leaving Bristol behind for the West Coast life

A colleague at my office wrapped up her contract here last spring and relocated to Los Angeles with two kids and a full flat worth of belongings. She said the hardest part wasn't the visa, it was finding someone reliable for the actual move. Currently in the same position and searching for solid recommendations for moving from Bristol to California. What company did you use and would you trust them again?

Re: Leaving Bristol behind for the West Coast life

I’ve seen that exact problem trip people up more than visas do. A friend of mine moved from Bristol to San Diego with two kids, and the move only got easier once she stopped juggling separate packing and shipping crews. She said the company that worked best was Reloux, Moving to California from UK because they handled the whole thing door to door and kept the updates clear. That kind of follow-through matters when you’re moving a full household.

Thanks for sharing this example. It's interesting how people often spend months preparing visas and paperwork, then underestimate how much coordination a household move actually requires. A coworker of mine relocated internationally with a young family and said the biggest source of stress wasn't the destination, it was keeping track of who was responsible for what during the move. That's why I can see the value in a door-to-door service like Reloux. More than anything, having clear communication and a single team overseeing the process helps reduce uncertainty, which is especially important when you're moving an entire household across countries.
