Russian cinderella movie

Could someone help me find the name of a Russian language movie of the Cinderella story, filmed in the Soviet Union in the early to mid-1970s? It was very distinctive. Instead of a fairy godmother, and other supernatural elements, animals like owls helped the Cinderella protagonist. I saw it when I was about 12 and I believe that it was on Kukla, Fran and Ollie, but I wouldn't swear to that. Please help if you can! Thanks.

Re: Russian cinderella movie

The English title is "Three Nuts for Cinderella". It is a Czech film, but it has been dubbed in a number of languages, including Russian. There is a fan page devoted to this very popular movie. You can find all of the information you might need there, including how to obtain a copy:

There's also a link to purchase an English subtitled version on my main CCFF page (click on the logo above).

Just scroll down the list of films to "Three Nuts."
