My husband and I adopted Mary Jane 8-16-2010. We have only had her at our home for 3 days now! She is such a great horse and is wonderful with our kids! Thank you so much for allowing us to adopt her!

Hi I've rescued Horses here in Clay county for the last couple of years, but I'm working on a very special case right know. This Horse was deamed abandoned and is blind in both eyes , from the clinical signs it was Leptosporosis which left him blind in both eyes. He was terrible emasiated and wormy. He had large wounds all over his back and marks from where he was beated .( I'm sure you know excactly what I'm talking about I'm afraid). We formed a local Animal shelter here in West Point about 2 years ago, and we are in the process of building it, but it will only support Cats and Dogs. I personally have taken on 6 Horses alone this year, all but one have been placed with good people, this one still needs Medical Help so I adoped him myself, but my Barn is now full to the brink and I'm desperatly looking for a Home for Snow. He is very gentle and loving even know he's blind and can be ritten if lead. We took care of all the medical problems and all he needs now is love and good food to gain more weight. We couldn't help the damage that was done to his eyes so that he will be permanently blind, but the infection is inactive and no longer containgest. He is c. 8-10 years old and a Gelding standing about 15 hands high and I think buildwise he is a Tennesse Walker. I gladly send you some Photos. I found Folly, a quarter horse mare rescued by Choctaw Ridge Rescue, about 4 months ago on horsetopia.com. After I found her ad on horsetopia.com, I went to visit her and I absolutely fell in love with her! I can't believe that someone could abuse a horse as wonderful as her (or maybe I am just being biast? haha), and I'm so grateful that she was rescued by this awesome rescue center, and she'll be completely mine in a few weeks... keep up the great work,Choctaw Ridge!
