Hello, my Name is Madison and I live in inyo county. The closest animal shelter to me is in big pine, ca. I’ve been harness training my kitten and just recently harness trained my seven year old rescue I got. I would love to take the time to harness train any cats that have an adventurous spirt and train them to go outside. I use escape proof harness and backpack , so they have a safe place to go if they get scared. This a big movement on Instagram and I know a bunch of people that are taking their cats outside. We moved here a year ago with our three cats in tow. A very aggressive cancer took our oldest, Felipe (11 years old). We are heartbroken but are also thinking of how we did our best to provide a safe, comfortable, and loving home for the little dude. We donated in his memory so that the other animals in the Eastern Sierra may have the same chance of a good life too.

I’ve always wondered what the shelter was like as I drove past the sign. I’m an animal lover and I always have to stop myself from turning in as I already have 2 rescues and my husband would not appreciate a surprise 3rd dog. I was so impressed with the website and the new (2015) shelter you’ve all built. I was also glad to see that you do not have a huge population of animals there. Thank you for the good work you do to save them all.

We adopted Miles and haven\'t had a moment\'s regret. He\'s full of energy and he\'s happy and sweet. He even loves going to puppy class where he has to work hard (with lots of treats passed out of course.) He\'s is a great companion to our older cattle dog.

We adopted Obie last week.
We love him so much. He fits into our family like a glove. He is a perfect addition to our home. Obie is so sweet, mellow and loyal. I\'m 60 years old and have never had a dog quite like Obie. We are so lucky to have him. Bishop Vet. gave him a clean bill of health, a rabies shot and license. Our thanks to everyone at the shelter for taking such good care of him until we adopted him.

We adopted Boss, who is now Bosley, after being told about him by Julie, our dog groomer. After we suddenly lost our beloved Labradoodle dog, we weren\'t sure what to do, but couldnt resist looking up this big shaggy dog. We loved him immediatly, and he has fit right into our home. Yes, he\'s messy, dirty, and will chase a kitty if it\'s outside! but our 3 cats have adjusted, my lab is happy with our new companion, and mike gets to take this very friendly and mostly quiet dog out on the golf course most everyday! will be interesting to see him shaved up a bit for summer, cause he does have hair! thanks to everyone who gave him love, and thanks to those who gave him up so we could have him! Keep doing a good job for our animals!

My husband and I stopped by the Big Pine shelter on Dec 31st of 2013 in hopes we would find the perfect cat to add to our family. And we did \"Theo\" now renamed Buddy went home with us that very day and has been the best friend and family member that any couple could hope for. He is very sweet,Happy, healthy and playful and his favorite activity is playing fetch with dad and eating tuna fish...Needless to say he has become quite the fatty ..My husband and I thank you for keeping him as long as you did , We would be lost without him in our home

I love the work you all do for these animals. Nate Rigney and I adopted Taz from you about a year ago he was one of the mix puppies that was found and brought in with their mother. He is an amazing young man who keeps me on my toes, knows all his commands and just learned \"high-five\" and \"sit up\" But both my dogs are shelter dogs, Bella is from Humane Society in Tacoma, Wa and Taz is from you!
