Hello, my Name is Madison and I live in inyo county. The closest animal shelter to me is in big pine, ca. I’ve been harness training my kitten and just recently harness trained my seven year old rescue I got. I would love to take the time to harness train any cats that have an adventurous spirt and train them to go outside. I use escape proof harness and backpack , so they have a safe place to go if they get scared. This a big movement on Instagram and I know a bunch of people that are taking their cats outside. We moved here a year ago with our three cats in tow. A very aggressive cancer took our oldest, Felipe (11 years old). We are heartbroken but are also thinking of how we did our best to provide a safe, comfortable, and loving home for the little dude. We donated in his memory so that the other animals in the Eastern Sierra may have the same chance of a good life too.

I’ve always wondered what the shelter was like as I drove past the sign. I’m an animal lover and I always have to stop myself from turning in as I already have 2 rescues and my husband would not appreciate a surprise 3rd dog. I was so impressed with the website and the new (2015) shelter you’ve all built. I was also glad to see that you do not have a huge population of animals there. Thank you for the good work you do to save them all.

We adopted Miles and haven\'t had a moment\'s regret. He\'s full of energy and he\'s happy and sweet. He even loves going to puppy class where he has to work hard (with lots of treats passed out of course.) He\'s is a great companion to our older cattle dog.
