I see from a tweet from Entertainment News that Lee is due to attend the press night of 'Beautiful Thing' at the Arts Theatre tomorrow night. If Denise is there with him, no doubt the paps will be there to take a few photos and analyse their body language!
According to @tomocopro (who worked with Lee on the Jack & the Beanstalk panto and is a producer for Beautiful Thing), both Lee and Denise are expected to be there Wednesday night:
Tom O'Connell @tomocopro
@denise_vanouten looking stunning! Will see you and your lovely Lee on Wednesday for @beautthing 1st night with @terryronald (who I love) xx
I hope they can enjoy the night out without too much interference from the paps.
Well, given the press interest in them both, at least we should get plenty of pics. At least when they've run the press gauntlet, they can enjoy themselves inside the theatre.
I half hope Lee and Denise don't attend the play together. After Denise stirring up the tabloids interest yet again with her latest interview on their personal lives, any appearance together will probably be viewed as a PR stunt unfortunately. And that's a shame since Lee tweeted weeks ago that he was looking forward to seeing 'Beautiful Thing'.
Greycat, the DVO article in Now magazine today has now been taken up
once again by Mail_Online so the nasty comments have shown their
ugly face once again.
Why does DVO do these interviews, I feel for Lee seeing he hates
these intrusions into his family life.
No matter what Denise or Lee say, the tabloids will recycle it and twist it to make up something sensational -- it's how they work, it's how they make money. Anybody who gives any credence to those rags is a dope and a tool. They do this for every celeb couple on a regular basis and people eat it up because they're gullible.
Even if you don't buy the print version, every time you click on a tabloid link, you support them with the page views that their advertisers pay them for. It's nothing more than link bait.
Ignore the stupidity! Ninnies will gossip anyway -- why does it matter what stupid people think? To hell with them!
Now how this impacts on the numerous other agencies/addresses we have for him, I cannot begin to work out! It's bang up to date with WEM, which is nice to see.
It's a proper PR firm, meant to be dedicated to his profile as an individual, not for the shows or other projects. His other management and agency people will have their own PR, but those have varied from minimal press releases to full fledged media campaigns. The WEM for instance have their own PR people. There will be crossover, but as his profile becomes bigger, it's good to have.
And presumably, he wouldn't spend the money if he didn't think it was important. Moreso than Denise, he still has an opportunity to shape his profile as a performer.
Denise is represented by Claire Dundas at James Grant Management, and it was to her that I was asked (by Denise) to sent the congratulatory LMAS Baby card .... If you Google Max and Claire Dundas they appear to come up as a couple.
#just sayin'
I see Denise has put a link on her twitter page to a song
she is singing in her new one woman show. It is the song
she dedicated to Lee in her one woman show Blondes.
I remember seeing the show a couple of times at the
preview shows at the New End Theatre Hampstead.
It was a lovely moment because it showed how much she
loved Lee. She then of course went on to do the show
at the Edinburgh Festival, where I believe she sang the
song at each performance with the same dedication to Lee.
"I’m not generally the biggest fan of reality shows, but there is no denying that they can certainly be an effective career path, as Mead proved. Any Dream Will Do turned a small-time stage performer into a West End leading man, successful recording artist and all-round household name."
In fact, the TV casting shows have been an effective career path for quite a few performers which is good to see
Thanks, Greycat, that is a nice piece. I don't think the ALW casting shows get the credit they deserve in comparison with the other reality talent shows. Far more of ALW's proteges have proven they are the "real deal" and not just desperate-for-attention fame*****s.
Maggie, I agree, that's a lovely rendition of that song. You'd think she likes him, eh? Probably bound to confuse the tabloids.
I think that was the difference with the Casting Shows - they were about casting a WE leading role, so they attracted a lot of people with training and experience who actually wanted to be in the business. That makes a lot of difference to the overall standard of talent.
I was thinking today about ADWD and it struck me that the judges were pretty constructive in their comments. I found that refreshing - judges who were willing to tell the contestants where they were going wrong, while at the same time not resorting to nastiness ('bitrubbish'-gate notwithstanding, but even then, Zoe did explain herself the following week). I also felt that the judges cared about the contestants, unlike X-Factor, where all they seem to care about is arguing with each other, making sure one of their contestants wins and keeping their jobs!
Thanks PKP, what a gorgeous photo, I love Lee's hair that
length he certainly looks happy and relaxed.
I think it is lovely the way Lee supports his home town
and their charity events and also the theatre events whether
they be professional or amateur productions.
There is a lovely set of photos posted on the zimbio site
today taken of Lee on Saturday. I hope someone can do a link
as they are lovely photos. The papps must take turns in camping
outside their home as the caption says "Lee Mead returns home from
shopping". They are great photos though.
That's a pretty hilarious caption: "EXCLUSIVE Lee Mead pictured walking home from the shops"! What next?
Daily Mail Exposes the REAL contents of Lee Mead's shopping basket! Milk! Eggs! Bread!
I don't know about you, but this is really borderline behavior to me. Something MUST be terribly wrong -- I think (sigh) . . . I think they ran out of milk! And maybe even bread. It's just unbelievable. I can't believe he'd let things go this far.
Well, maybe I'll just wait to hear what the big brains at Daily Mail comments or Digital Spy say about this. I'm sure they'll know what to make of all this. From what I understand, some of them have actually done the same thing or seen other people do it.
Who'd have thought that Lee's shopping expeditions would be such media fodder?
I'm surprised that his shopping list hasn't been leaked to the press yet! Perhaps there will be an exclusive interview with the till girl who served him!
So THIS was the surprise hinted at on his FB page!!! Never mind WEM and panto announcements, LEE GOES SHOPPING is the big news - just what we've been waiting for over the last few months. I can't contain my excitement!!!
It sounds as though Lee, Denise and Betsy are having a nice
relaxing day away from the paps going by an exchange of tweets
between Lee and @HunnyBeezTenter in Tenterdon.
@leemeadofficial and @denise_vanouten lovely to see you today
thank you for supporting local please come again soon" and Lee's
reply "Love a Jacket, especially with beans and cheese, great
food".x
Apparently, even eating his lunch makes quite an impression!
But has she really seen Philip Schofield eating lunch? I suppose he eats everytime they have a cooking segment on This Morning.
Frankly, I'd watch a tv series of Lee Mead eating 3 meals a day. Plus snacks and beverages. It would be the male equivalent of Nigella Lawson's food porny programmes but without the actual cooking lol.
(Just kidding! About Philip, not about the tv show.)
Just have to tell you about my brief Lee spot yesterday.
My daughter and I were just about to leave to see Pasha and Katya (SCD) at Camberley theatre when I looked at Twitter to see Denise had put that she was en route to see the same show and was meeting Kimberley Walsh. Daughter and I decided we would keep our eyes open. Before the show and in the first half and interval we couldn't see them anywhere after scanning the entire audience and watching the door even after the show had begun. We decided that they would sneak in at the last minute to avoid any fuss and then noticed another door at the back. That had to be it. We were getting stiff necks by now turning to watch the door but as the lights were just about to go down I told my daughter to have one last look. "Yes" she said and as I turned round I saw Denise coming in with LEE behind her. Much heart fluttering ensued on my part. He was in a white shirt and my daughter who hasn't seen him since the Aylesbury concert said "He still looks gorgeous" He sat between the 2 girls and I reluctantly had to turn round and watch the show! Must admit that for the first 10 minutes or so my concentration was shot to pieces knowing he was behind me not too far away. At the end, they left just before the curtain came down and all we saw was a curly head disappearing through the back door at the top. Funnily enough I had said earlier, if Denise was tweeting en route, who was driving? But that was said more as a joke than an actual question.
I apologise for wittering on, but it is a long time since January!
By the way, the show was excellent even without my unexpected bonus.
Cassie, I noticed your excited Tweet last night - what a thrill for you! I'd love a chance encounter (well, almost an encounter) like that ....
I'm not surprised they kept a low profile, given the press coverage they've had lately, but apart from that I would hate to have to go in late and leave early - half the fun of going to a show is the anticipation, getting settled into your seats and enjoying the atmosphere. I guess that's one of the prices you pay for being well known.
Glad you managed to enjoy the show!
ETA: Katya has now posted a pic on Twitter of Pasha, Lee, Denise & Kimberly:
Lovely to hear about your Lee sighting Cassie. Please don't apologise for for 'wittering on'.
Seeing Lee unexpectedly & in a White Shirt I can well understand your heart fluttering!
It's nice to know they were enjoying some time together on their wedding anniversary, especially after all the gossip.
Thanks for the link to the photo A Liz.
Oooo! Cassie...what a lovely night out for you and your daughter,
and with the added bonus of seeing Lee and Denise too...
I really enjoyed reading all about it.
Many thanks for sharing it with us all.
Thanks too, for the link A/Liz, and also PKP for the enhanced photo...
Doesn't he look wonderful in his WHITE shirt!!! Phew!
Lee was mentioned on the quiz Eggheads tonight. The question was 'who played the leading role in the recent WE production of Sweeney Todd.....', choice of answers were 'Lee Mead, Michael Ball, John Barryman'. The lady whose question it was said 'Lee Mead' ,(perhaps she's a fan ) at least she knew who he was and it was nice to see him get a mention alongside MB and JB.
Please is anyone listening to Denise on Magic? I just moved out for a couple of minutes and just caught the back end of her saying about making a costume I guess it is for Betsy but didn't catch what it is for,if you could help would be grateful x
She also talked about trying to hide Betsy's birthday presents even though they were getting boxes delivered every day this past week. This is such a fun age, even when kids decide it's more fun to play with the cardboard boxes than the actual toys.
