Hi Cassie. Well done to your son, hope his knee is okay today. On our way to board our flight to Dublin Joem and I had to run to the Gate in Gatwick, as it was closing. That was about my limit, phew
Respect to those who took part yesterday.
Hope you are both having a lovely time in Selsey, Debbie and Woozie. Glad you are having such beautiful weather.
Hope you enjoyed your day yesterday Sue (Reynolds)
Well I am in Switzerland, on a weeks holiday. We drove over last Saturday and we are staying with my sister.
It is boiling hot here and I did not pack for summer!!! We have had to buy some shorts (we did bring t-shirts) and I am burnt as the UV is so much stronger here as we are higher up.
My Dad is here too as he has moved out of his swiss house that he shared with Mum (my mum died last year, after 25 years of living in Switzerland) and is all set to move to the UK. He has bought a house near me.
So it is a full house here - me with hub and two kids, my sister with hub and two kids, plus Dad! But fun!!
My girls are not looking forward to the drive home though on Sunday. It was a very long day (channel tunnel) but worth it to have a car here though.
Enjoy the rest of your Swiss holiday Kirsten. Years ago we went on holiday to Cornwall for Easter, when it fell the same weekend as this year. We went prepared for a normal British Bank holiday with jumpers, jackets etc. but it was hot & sunny weather all the time. A lovely few days!
Have a lovely rest of holiday Kirsten we had one of our best holidays in Switzerland.
Having a hectic first week of school holidays here. Today while the twins were in nursery I took Amelie to cinema and out for lunch. Was so lovely to do stuff with her as she misses out a bit because the twins are quite demanding. Going to a farm tomorrow with all 3 so I should really be in bed.
My friend and I went to Switzerland m-a-n-y years ago and loved it. Always said I'd go back, but never did. We stayed in Interlaken, and I remember going to the top of the Jungfrau (via the Eiger) in the little train, where my friend nearly passed out in the thin atmosphere as she had very low blood pressure! We stepped out of the train into the snow to watch the skiers, whereas it had been over 80 degrees in the town thousands of feet below.
We went to the casino, where I had a great time playing roulette (didn't have a clue what I was doing really) - but she wouldn't let me stay in case I blew all my winnings!
I also remember we played crazy golf at midnight with a couple of Italian waiters ... but we will gloss over that! Oh to be young again ...
Just been to the dentist. While I was sitting in the dreaded chair what should come on the radio but More than Words and then Daydream believer!!! ( Not my favoured versions!) Would have smiled if I could have LOL
Heard today that my son jon plus wife Lisa and the two littlest grandsons are coming to visit us next week. That will be fun, do not see them often as its a long trip down the M4.Charlie is early 3 and Rhys is just over a year old.
Lovely news for you Sue - hope you all have a wonderful time together next week...
Hope the dental treatment went well yesterday Cassie
Just love 'Daydream Believer' but agree with you, I prefer Lee's version - even sitting in a Dentist's chair...
That's great Sue. You must be very excited.
Hope the dentist wasn't too bad Cassie. How are things going with your OH and your Mum? Hope they are making good progress.
Have a lovely holiday Kirsten. I've been to Switzerland and loved it. It was so TIDY. Even the fields, hedges etc were tidy !!
Isn't the weather fantastic. It's like being abroad isn't it Having said that, my son and his girlfriend are on holiday in Spain and they had rain yesterday !!
My eldest son lives in Sydney and we are hotter here at the moment
Enjoy Thursday everyone.
Cassie, why did you have to mention dentists? I've got toothache now - it must be catching. At least I've managed to wangle an emergency appointment this afternoon for a quick patch up job.
Sue (Reynolds), I hope you enjoy your family's visit.
How is everyone spending the Easter break? We are decorating with a vengeance, and have been stripping wallpaper and painting. I hate skirting boards!! I am off work until after the May Bank Holiday, and the idea is to work until lunchtime, then pub lunch followed by lazy afternoon. That's already gone out of the window - and we've only just finished day one! Roll on 3rd May!
There is a lovely twitter photo of Lee with a
group of young girls taken yesterday outside
Pineapple Dance Studious, her twitter name is
dufflovesmusic and you can zoom in and get a
lovely close up, he is looking gorgeous.
Morning all
A Liz & Jazzylou good luck with the decorating.
I arrived home yesterday to find that we have no water & problem can't be fixed because it is bank holiday Why do these things always happen at the worst possible times???
Awww! Joan...so sorry to hear about your mains water problems, what rotten timing for something to go wrong...
Do hope you can get something sorted out soon...
Good luck A/Liz and Jazzylou with the decorating today, at least you've both managed to get further than me. I'm still at the 'talking stage' with my OH! LOL!
Morning and Happy Easter everyone.
Oh Joan, what a nightmare !! It's amazing how these things always seem to happen over Bank Holidays
Hope you manage to get sorted soon. Bet there's a rush for bottled water in your area.
Thanks for the twitter pic yesterday ladies. It must be amazing to just bump into him like that, in the street, out of the blue. If that ever happened to me I'd stop dead on the pavement, go bright red and give him a feeble little wave and smile. I'd then crawl around the corner and sink to my knees on the pavement
how's the decorating going? My OH is at his wits end (he detests decorating) - apparently it's all my fault, because I wanted it done! He's the one who decided we'd do it now, asked if I'd take next week off to help (starting yesterday, until end of May BH = 11 days)! I think more wallpaper went in the bin than on the wall today. As for me, I washed and ironed the curtains by the patio doors - aargh!!!
Well, I couldn't see him & I was watching very closely!
I can't believe all the water on the pitch. We haven't had a drop & it's been hotter than ever here today. Daughter & grandson have been swimming in the sea - I went in as far as my ankles!
Happy Easter guys x
I have just got bk from my hols had a fabulous time i have a really nice tan and didn't even have to leave the country, cleaned the caravan ready for the Summer hols chilling now with some guilty choccy...lol
Happy Easter everybody, bit late, but still Easter Monday to go.
You had lovely weather for your holiday Debbie. I am wondering what sort of weather daughter and hubby are having in the Canary Isles.
A/Liz- I can relate to your experience with your OH and decorating (and other domestic type things actually), somehow it is always OUR fault, they are very clever and turning things around so they never appear to be in the wrong - it's a male ego thing. I must admit when it comes to decorating, I do the choosing of colours and then "take to the hills" out of earshot of the cursing and banging that goes on, and let him get on with the actual job - he's happy with this arrangement though as I never do it right anyway, according to his exacting standards.
And why is it always MY washing that he has kindly hung out or brought in for me, if I happened to be out... hhmmmm. Love him to bits really
A Liz, I sympathise. I remember my dad doing something similar once. Our is finally coming together today, all walls now have had two coats. Just clearing up then wood painting tomorrow. A hard weekend though, I wish we could have enjoyed at least a bit of the sun I am happy to get it done though.
My no. I son was supposed to be finishing the painting he started three weeks ago, but the lure of the sea got the better of him.
Took the baby to a farm yesterday to she the "lambing" he eas completly disinterested !! but nana enjoyed holding all the little animals although not to kken on the birthing part !! It was extremly hot though . wonder if it will last out until the wedding.?
My hay fever is dreadfull , nothing is working. I am having a bit of depression at the moment feeel like crying every five mins. so that may be affecting it.
I have a "Legally Blonde" ticket and a Kilworth House one so have at least two reasons to be cheerfull
I have treated myself to a night at the Kilworth
House Hotel after the concert, I dont have to pay
for it until I arrive so have plenty of time to
save up.
I have not been feeling well since my Mum passed
away, I think it is sciatica as I have got terrible
pains in my legs. Its weird because while I was
looking after Mum I was fine although tired, and
now I am not working so hard I'm not feeling well.
Feeling for you ladies . Sod's law says everything will cease to work on bank holidays/ Sundays especially when you really need it.
Have had chilled outish Easter weekend, church, baby sitting 'Amazing' Grace Saturday night, everything closed Sunday so sat out a bit.
Decorating in bits but have a lot to do!! Hey Ho! There is always tomorrow...oops it is..although not..if you see what I mean.
Lovely news for you SUE R. My youngest son Daniel is coming home in 3 weeks so must really get carpet in my room so can move all rubbish out of his/spare room.
Please note Sue R is not the same as Sue Reynolds.
Hope you all have a fine and sunny bank holiday with ckoked roads and icecream.Watched some ballet at the weekend, a rare treat.May see Springwatch and A Hard Day's Night tonight.
Sorry SUE REYNOLDS for abbreviating your name to SueR. Combination of laziness and wine I'm afraid. I did mean you so have lovely time with baby.
Absolutely freezing here today. Back in scarf, boots and gloves but was lovely while it lasted.
It's still warm here in the South & I'm still in T-shirts & sandals. If that cold weather is coming this way I'll have to get my boots & coat out again.
Anyone braving the crowds for the Wedding ? I would have loved to have gone but did not fancy it on my own. so have making do with my sister and nephew plus my sons to watch on the T.V. Have brought some union jack plates ect, and a large flag for outside. We are very quiet around here now, used to be loads of kids when mine were growing up but now all we have are two toddlers WE had a huge street party for the silver jubilee.
